How to use auto darkening welding helmet?

The harm of arc welding radiation has been widely recognized by welding operators. However, a large number of cases of electro-optic ophthalmia are still reported every year, and the protection against the harm of arc welding radiation is often ignored. The causes of electro-optic ophthalmia include not using welding masks, using unqualified welding masks, or using incorrect methods.

Welder's electro-optic ophthalmia caused by welding arc is listed as the second largest occupational disease besides pneumoconiosis. The main causes of welder injury are as follows:

1. Some welders use black glass masks and use naked eyes to start the arc during the arc striking process. Although there is physiological blink reflex protection, the direct effect of arc light at the moment of arc starting cannot be completely avoided.

2. Cross radiation of welding arc light in the environment where many people are engaged in welding operations.

3. Influence of radiation reflection and scattering on welding operators.

In order to improve welding quality and efficiency, and protect welders from arc light, automatic dimming welding mask came into being.

The auto darkening filter screen usually includes a control circuit, an arc detector, an outer protective film, ultraviolet and infrared filters, a light valve, an inner protective film and other structural parts. When an arc is generated at the moment of welding, the filter screen can automatically convert the light shielding number from bright state to dark state, so that the welder can observe the welding position and prepare for welding. When the welding is stopped, the filter will be switched from dark state to bright state, so that the welder can clearly observe the welding effect and prepare for the next welding operation.

Most welding masks have two adjustment knobs inside. One knob adjusts the sensitivity, that is, the response time from the light state to the dark state, and the other adjusts the recovery time from the dark state to the light state. This is to facilitate welders to set according to their surroundings, welding types and welding habits. The adjustment knob of the dark shading number is located outside the welding helmet shell and can be adjusted by the welder at any time.

There are many kinds of auto dimming masks, and the specific design modules and use methods are still slightly different. Our welding masks are equipped with instructions, which can be set by you according to the instructions.
